Haringtons Annual Trainee Awards were held recently at The Wycombe Swan Theatre
in High Wycombe, with proceeds from ticket sales being donated to the Bonifacii
Trust and the British Hairdressers Benevolent.
First, Second and Third Year Trainee Hairdressers from all twelve salons in the Haringtons Group competed for the coveted Bonifacii Award - named after one of Haringtons Art Directors, Tony Bonifacci, who sadly died a few years ago leaving a young son. Each Trainee had to present a model on stage that they had prepared from top to toe (this included the hair style, colour, make up outfit).
Other prizes were The Hairdressers Journal Award for best Front Cover Look – a photographic category judged by Hairdressers Journal and the L’Oreal Professionnel Award for Colour. The beautiful Bonifacii Angel Trophy was given to the overall winner chosen from all three year groups.
The Haringtons International Art Directors launched their latest collection to an excited audience providing stunning entertainment. It was a great opportunity for everyone to get a glimpse of the amazing work that the Haringtons Artistic Team show internationally.
It was certainly a proud moment for Haringtons Robert Smith, Simon Shaw and David Lambert, seeing the theatre packed with so many supporters and observing the tremendous effort that everyone had put into the day. Every year the Awards day becomes a bigger celebration of Haringtons Internal Training.
The Event is the highlight of the Haringtons Training Calendar and Trainees can win points towards their NVQ by competing. There was an audience of over 750 in attendance, comprising friends, relatives, local career advisors, journalists and Haringtons staff.
The winners were:
· Bonifacii Award Overall Winner - Hayley Crunden, Reading Salon
· Hairdresser’s Journal Front Cover Award - Leighanne Coldman, Reading Salon
·
L’Oreal Award for Colour - Siobhan Tanner, Reading Salon
Haringtons Director Robert Smith said “Every year we are more and more impressed with the standard of work that our Trainee hairdressers produce at this event. It really is a culmination of all the hard work that they and the Education Teams put in between the awards. We are really proud of all their achievements and know that they will be an asset to the salons that they work in when they qualify, well done to all of them.”
