Heading off to a special party?  Then you have the perfect excuse to experiment with the latest on-trend beauty and make-up looks.

Forget the nearly nude make-up look that was all the rage during the summer months and say hello to a glamorous new look.  If you’re going to a special party, why not pay your local Haringtons salon a visit.

So, how should we be wearing our make-up?  Read on for some inspiration…

Metallic Eye Shadow Party Looks

Bold black eyeliner and an expert sprinkling of gold, bronze or silver eye shadow are a must for an on-trend party make-up look.  Emma Watson opts for daring smokey eyes with gold glitter, while Jessica Cale opts for a gorgeous bronze shade and Kim Kardashian really suits this silver eyeshadow.  If you choose a bold make-up look for your eyes, keep your hair style simple and elegant.

Long Luscious Party Lashes

False eye lashes have come a long way since the 1960s!  Individual lashes can be applied for a more subtle look, or choose a complete set of false eyelashes or long-lasting eyelash extensions.  They add extra length and volume to your lashes which, in turn, will make your eyes look bigger.  Cheryl Cole, Jessica Lowndes and Kim Kardashian look stunning with their fake eyelashes.

Bright Red Lips Trend

Sexy red lips make a big statement so if you want to get noticed at your party, slick on the lippy and make sure it’s this season’s on-trend red colour.  There is a red lip shade out there that will suit your skin and hair colouring but if you’re unsure about whether this dynamic colour is right for you, choose a muted tone or some red lip gloss instead.  Alexandra Burke opts for a muted red colour, Kristen Stewart totally rocks this vibrant red lipstick and Scarlett Johanssen chooses a red lippy with orange undertones.  If you choose a strong lip or eye colour, don’t overdo your hair styling – keep it classic and simple.

Glitter Nails

Opt for a sparkling set of nails with this season’s trend for glitter nails and metallics.  Choose deep colours such as burgundy red and petrol blue and add some sparkles for all-out glamour.
