Trainee Hairdressers – Recognising Talent

We love to recognise and encourage talent here at the Haringtons Group and our trainees have numerous opportunities to shine.

Our trainees are encouraged to enter the Trainee of the Month and Trainee of the Year Competitions and, once qualified, can audition for the L’Oréal ID artist programme which is a sought-after development and educational opportunity for hairdressers with an eye for fashion and unique creative expression.

Previous trainees have also entered and won the Redken Mens’ competition and become finalists in the regional L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards.

With the Directors of Haringtons heavily involved with the Hairdresser of the Year Awards and the Fellowship for British Hairdressing, it promotes enthusiasm and motivation throughout the company for staff to excel in their field of excellence.

It should also be said that we enjoy a high staff retention rate among our trainees.  Many of them continue their training to go on to become assessors, education managers, junior art team members and franchisee salon owners as well as staff at all grades including our top style director level.

Take, for example, former Haringtons trainee Kathryn Dartnell who started her career in the Haringtons Art Team before being picked for the L’Oreal ID Artist Programme.  When she isn’t working in our Haringtons salons, Kathryn enjoys session styling on photoshoots and backstage at New York, London, Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks.

And former Haringtons trainee Richard Scorer went on to join the Hartingtons’ Art Team before carving out a fabulous career styling hair for advertising campaigns, glossy magazines and celebrities – all while still working for us here at Haringtons!
