Stars of the big screen took to the red carpet at the Royal Opera House in London for the 2015 BAFTAs.
Actor Eddie Redmayne and actress Julianne Moore were the biggest winners of the evening. Eddie Redmayne scooped the best actor award for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, while Julianne Moore won best actress for Still Alice.
While all eyes were on what the stars were wearing, the team at Haringtons were checking out the hairstyles too! We bring you the best and the worst of the BAFTAS…
The Harington Salons
Plunging necklines at the BAFTAs!
A plunging neckline can be a difficult look to get away with! So which stars got it right on the night? We really love Hayley Atwell’s on-trend gorgeous red hair colour and messy waves but her short, tightfitting blue dress with a net effect covering part of her upper torso received the thumbs down from the team at Haringtons.
Julianne Moore, however, stole the show in the fashion stakes, wowing on the red carpet in a Tom Ford red dress with plunging neckline and her hair looked at stunning as ever, fashioned into beautiful retro curls. We also love Reece Witherspoon‘s plum coloured Stella McCartney gown.
Short sassy hairstyles at the BAFTAs 2015
One of the most sophisticated looks of the evening was achieved by Kristen Scott Thomas who wore a vintage black Balmain dress which was accessorised with giant diamond earrings. Her hair is very short and she manages to give it some va-va-voom with volume on top.
Patricia Arquette won best supporting actress winner for Boyhood. We love her daring quaffed hairstyle and this lovely plum red dress. Her 1970s-inspired hairstyle with a longer fringe and slight messy waves was bang on trend for 2015.
Rosamund Pike opted for a simple but elegant black halter-neck Roland Mouret dress and added some gentle curls to her short blonde bob.
On-trend hairstyles at the BAFTAs
Best actress nominee Amy Adams looked sophisticated in a white belted gown from Lanvin. She finished off the look with shiny straight hair and a low side parting.
Actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw was on-trend with her pastel hued lavender Prada gown with black trim and matching black bag. We love the simplicity at the top of this gown which works beautifully with the flowing lower half with train. Her hair is scraped back for a classic and elegant look.
Vintage glamour was the name of the game for Lea Seydoux who wore a yellow pleated Prada gown with cut-out sections giving it a modern twist. Her vintage hairstyle, dark eyes and bright red lips perfectly matched this retro look.
Men’s hair and fashion at the 2015 BAFTAs
David Beckham got it right again with a sharp midnight blue tuxedo and quiffed hairstyle. Suave, sophisticated and very very handsome!
We love that Douglas Booth took a risk with this vintage-inspired pale blue velvet smoking jacket which shows his own sense of style. We really like his cool bearded look too but reckon the hair could be a bit more exciting.
Man of the night, Eddie Redmayne was thrilled to take the best actor for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. He also won in the men’s style stakes with his blue velvet Tom Ford tuxedo jacket with black lapels.
And let’s give a special mention to Sergio Pizzorno, lead singer of rock band Kasabian, for his very own take on the black tie look!
