Two talented stylists from Haringtons Hairdressing in Henley-on-Thames have made it to the regional finals of the prestigious L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards with an eye-catching hair and fashion look created for their model.
Creative Stylist Ellie Sion, 27, and Creative Technician Samm McCarthy-Fernandez had their model’s look judged by the industry’s leading hairdressers. Ellie and Samm’s high fashion twist on a classic hairstyle beat hundreds of other salon looks to gain them a place in the Southern regional finals.
The L’Oréal Colour Trophy is 60 years old this year which makes it the longest running live hairdressing competition in the world. The judges look for an inspirational and skilled hair cut, style and colour, with finalists demonstrating exceptional technical skill and producing a style that suits the model’s face and bone structure. The outfits worn by the models also have to be carefully selected to enhance the hair style and colour.
Ellie, who lives in Maidenhead, said: “We have to keep our plans under wraps but let’s just say that we’ve created a high fashion look with a twist.”
Samm, who has experience of delivering stunning looks on magazine and runway shoots, added: “The look we’ve created is on-trend in every way from the colour I created to the fantastic hair cut that Ellie has produced.”
This is the second time the team have made it to the regional finals – last year they were placed 10th.
Ellie, who is Assistant Manager at Haringtons in Henley, said: “We are very excited to be in the regional finals again. This year is definitely our year!”
Thirty five styling teams from the Southern region will now showcase their talents at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London on April 21st with the winning team or individual going on to the Grand Final on June 1st.
